Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all guests booking accommodation and related services with Cardrona Terraces, whether directly or via third parties.

By confirming a reservation, guests agree to abide by the following policies:

Rates

$12,000 per night

$15,000 per night High Festive Season
(20 December - 5 January 2025).

10% surcharge on Public Holidays.  

All rates are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include 15% GST.

Minimum Stay

A 3 night minimum stay applies.

A 5 night minimum stay applies during the Festive Season -  this runs from the 2nd Friday in December through to and including 3rd Friday in January.

Cardrona Terraces Wedding & Event Minimum Stays

A 4 night minimum stay applies for events of up to 30 people.

A 5 night minimum stay applies for Events for over 30 people.

Booking and Payment

Full prepayment for all reservations prior to guest’s arrival is required to guarantee a reservation based on the prepayment terms stipulated below.

When prepayment is not received by the due date, the Lodge reserves the rights to release all reservations held without notification.

A deposit of 50% is required to confirm and secure your reservation, with the balance due 60 days prior to arrival.

Immediate payment is required for arrivals that fall within the prepayment due date.

Cardrona Terraces may, at its option, cancel any booking not paid in full prior to arrival.

One night’s accommodation will be held as Bond and refunded after check out and a property inspection has been conducted.  

Festive Season runs from the 2nd Friday in December through to and including 3rd Friday in January. Festive Season bookings require a non-refundable deposit of 50% to confirm. With the balance due by 1 September prior.

All rates are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include 15% GST.

Payments by Visa, Mastercard, or American Express incur a 2.7% surcharge for NZ credit cards and 3.7% for international credit cards. Payment can also be made by direct deposit.

Arrival and departure details must be supplied no later than seven days prior to arrival (or supplied at time of booking inside seven days of travel).

Non-Payment

Unpaid balances after departure will incur interest and recovery costs.

Bond and Cleaning

A bond equal to one night’s stay is pre-authorised at check-in.

The bond is refunded within 3 days post-departure, subject to inspection.

Excessive cleaning, damage, or breakages will be deducted from your bond.

Cancellations, No Show and Amendments

The Lodge will treat all reservations made by customers as guaranteed reservations once the 50% deposit is paid.

Cancellations must be notified by e-mail to the Reservations Manager at Cardrona Terraces - stay@cardronaterraces.co.nz

The cancellation date will be on the day the Lodge receives the e-mail and only be valid once the customer receives the cancellation confirmation from the Reservations Department of the Lodge.

No refunds for unused services or no-shows, including weather or travel disruptions.

Amendments are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.

The following cancellation fee is applicable if the entire or partial reservation is cancelled:

90+ days prior to arrival - 25% of the total room nights will be charged.

60-89 days prior to arrival - 50% of the total room nights will be charged.

30-59 days prior to arrival - 100% of the total room nights will be charged.

Up to 30 days prior to arrival, No show, Early Departure - 100% of the total room nights & any additional activities/add-ons booked will be charged.

Festive Season Cancellation Policy

Festive Season runs from the 2nd Friday in December through to and including 3rd Friday in January. Cancellation from
1 September to date of arrival will incur a 100% charge for the room nights cancelled.

Other alterations to booking details may result in a rate change. All outstanding charges are to be paid prior to arrival.

Refunds

Can take up to 14 working days to be processed.

Check-In / Check-Out

Check-in: from 3:00 PM / 15:00 hours
Check-out: by 10:00 AM / 10:00 hours.

Children and Extra Guests

Children are welcome.

Cribs are available complimentary for children up to the age of 24 months.

Children 6 years and over are charged at NZ$350 per night for additional person/bed, food and beverage.

Children aged 2 - 5 years are charged at NZ$250 per night for additional person/bed, food and beverage.

Alternate dining arrangements will be made for all children under the age of 12 after 6PM / 18:00.

One additional trolley beds can be added to the 2x Grand Suites at Cardrona Terraces only. Premier Suites, no additional beddings are available - Cribs only.

Guests are required to be over 25 years of age (this excludes children of guests).

Children must be supervised at all times and accompanied by an adult around the pool, pond, driveway and grounds.

Guest numbers must not exceed those people registered on the booking confirmation.

Additional charges apply for unauthorised guests.

Smoking and Pets

Smoking and vaping are prohibited indoors.

No pets are allowed, except certified guide or hearing dogs with prior approval.

Guest Conduct and Responsibilities

Guests must behave respectfully.

Cardrona Terraces may refuse service or evict guests for unruly or threatening behaviour.

Guests are liable for damage caused during their stay, including loss of income from unavailable rooms.

Any wilful damage or excessive cleaning will be charged ($70/hour).

Security and Valuables

Cardrona Terraces accepts no liability for loss or damage unless due to negligence.

Proof of identity may be required upon check-in.

Lost Property

If a lost item is found and the owner can be clearly identified:

Cardrona Terraces will contact the guest.

The item will be returned via registered mail at the expense of the guest.

If the owner cannot be identified:

The item will be logged and securely stored for 3 months.

After 3 months, if the item remains unclaimed:

It will be disposed of, or

If of tangible benefit, it will be donated to a local charity.

Events and Gatherings

Event Fees:

Functions of up to 20 people $5,000

Functions over 20 - 120 people $10,000

Functions over 120 people $15,000

Events i.e. Gatherings of over the 12 people staying at the Lodge, are only allowed by pre-approval in writing.

Unauthorised events may result in eviction and forfeiture of bond.

A 4 night minimum stay applies for events of up to 30 people.

A 5 night minimum stay applies for Events for over 30 people.

A $5000 Event Bond is required.

Non-staying guests must leave by 12:00 AM; loud music must cease by 11:30 PM.

No camping, fireworks, or unsupervised children near water hazards.

Force Majeure

Cardrona Terraces shall be relieved of its obligations hereunder in the event and to the extent of its performance if this Agreement is delayed or prevented in whole or in part by any cause beyond its control, including without limitation: acts of God or government authorities, change of laws, war or hostilities (declared or not), civil unrest, fire, flood, natural disasters, explosion, sale, seizure of the Lodge under legal process, strikes, lockouts or labour stoppages or any other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Lodge that makes the Lodge unable to operate fully or partially.

Exclusions of Liability

It is agreed that the Lodge and the Lodge Company shall not be liable to the Company or any other person for any loss, damage, liability, expenses or costs suffered or incurred by the Company or any member of any reservation(s), including any loss, damages, liability, expenses and costs arising from any loss of, damage to or theft of property, unless such loss, damage, liability, expenses and costs resulted directly from the gross negligence or wilful damage of the Lodge.

Website Use

Website use is subject to copyright laws.

No copying, commercial use, or reverse engineering of website materials.

Website content is provided “as-is” without warranties.

Cardrona Terraces is not responsible for linked external websites.

Privacy and Security

Your data is protected under our Privacy Policy.

Online reservations are secured via Res Books.

Credit card data is encrypted and never transmitted via email.

Legal Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by New Zealand law.

Any disputes shall be resolved in New Zealand courts.

Travel Insurance

Guests are strongly encouraged to obtain travel insurance to protect against unforeseen changes.
